Series: Otherkin #1
Rating: 3 of 5 stars
Nikki is a cougar shifter living in a werewolf world. When she’s promised as a mate to a wolf shifter named Merrick, the fur flies. This short story is a free title, offered by New York Times bestselling author, Anya Bast.
I stumbled across Fury in one of those serendipitous (but forgotten) ways that any avid reader can appreciate. Within is Nikki Armstrong, OtherKin cougar shifter in a clan called Fury, which is comprised of a whole society of others like her—with one teeny difference. They’re wolves. And their ruling body wants her to be their leader.
Wow. I don’t read many romances/eroticas, but if they can walk the fine line between sex and storyline the way Fury does, then maybe I should give a few more a chance. There’s blood and action and politics and fear and courage—all quite well-written and executed with more skill than other books outside the genre. And with like a fourth of the length! Fury was a really great ride made even better by Bast’s knack for good writing.
